OK, so staying in Goodyear, AZ overnight on our way to Las Vegas, and decided to have dinner at a nearby P.F. Changs. Well, that was mostly a mistake. The last time we ate at one (years ago), we were disappointed.
They were offering a special 3 course meal deal – shared appetizer, soup, and entrée for $19.49 per person (and two or more have to get it to use the offer).
We chose steamed pork dumplings for the special. In addition, we ordered crab rangoons and Korean style cauliflower. We had both egg drop and hot and sour soup. Both soups were delicious.
The pork potstickers were really tasty. The soy ginger sauce was a nice touch.
Not much good to say about the crab rangoons. The filling was gritty and, although it doesn’t look it, they were greasy. The Thai chili sauce was the saving grace.
Not certain why these were called “Korean style”, as really tasted like the Sesame Chicken sauce. Would not recommend this is a side, pretty uninspiring.
For our mains, we had Sesame Chicken and Mongolian Beef, both with steamed rice.
The Sesame Chicken was decent enough, but if it wasn’t part of the special, we would not have paid straight menu price.
The Mongolian Beef had a great flavor, but like mentioned above, would not have paid normal menu price for it.
All in all, it will be quite some time before we decide to venture back to P.F. Changs.
